Base Materials :<\/strong> sheet of plywood (1\/4\u201d max) or plywood scraps.<\/p>\n

6 x\u00a0\u00a0 \u00be\u201d or 1\u201d sturdy bolts, with nuts and lock washers (wing nuts help for ease of dismantling)<\/p>\n

At least 4 Large flat washers<\/p>\n

Additional Materials :<\/strong> Paints, decorations to suit<\/p>\n

Step 1.<\/strong>\u00a0 Cut 4 pieces approximately\u00a0\u00a0 4 ft long by 1.5 ft deep, Cut to your own design size and shape.<\/p>\n

Step 2.\u00a0 <\/strong>At the Bow\/Stern ends of each piece drill 2 holes to fit bolt size,\u00a0 6\u201d – 8\u201d apart, and 1\u201d- 2\u201d from edge. At the mid-beam ends drill\u00a0 one hole about 2\u201d to 4\u201d from the edge at mid depth. NB: All holes should match on all pieces.<\/p>\n

Step 3.\u00a0 <\/strong>Paint and decorate to your hearts content.<\/p>\n

Step 4.\u00a0 <\/strong>To construct:\u00a0 Make two halves of the boat by bolting two bow\/stern ends together.\u00a0 Then bolt the corresponding mid-beam joints. Place two large flat washers between the plywood, when bolting the mid-beam, this allows for flexibility. The nut ends of the bolts should be placed facing out, to avoid injuring crew. If you use \u00bc\u201d ply the sides will be flexible enough to widen the beam.<\/p>\n

Step 5.<\/strong> To Race:<\/p>\n
